Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 11, 2026
The short version
SuperCapture does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything happens locally on your devices. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking of any kind.
What information we collect
None. SuperCapture does not collect any personal information, usage data, diagnostics, or device identifiers. The desktop and mobile apps do not communicate with any servers we operate.
How the app works
All processing — including screenshots, video and audio recording, OCR text recognition, AI-powered categorization, and gallery management — runs entirely on your own device using on-device capabilities. The desktop app does not require an internet connection for any feature.
The SuperCapture mobile companion app (Android and iOS) is a remote that sends captures from your phone to your own desktop SuperCapture install over your local Wi-Fi network. After a one-time QR-code pairing, photos, document scans, and shared images are uploaded directly from your phone to your computer. Nothing transits our servers and nothing is shared with third parties.
Data storage
Your captures and associated metadata are stored locally on your Mac in standard file formats. You have full control over your files and can access, move, or delete them at any time using Finder or any other file management tool.
Third-party services
SuperCapture does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.
Advertising
SuperCapture contains no advertisements and does not participate in any advertising networks. We do not display ads, track ad engagement, or share data with advertisers.
Children's privacy
Because SuperCapture does not collect any data from any user, it is safe for users of all ages. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it relates to children, and applicable state laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Your rights under GDPR and CCPA
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have certain rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, as well as the right to opt out of its sale.
Because SuperCapture does not collect, store, or process any personal data, these rights are satisfied by default. There is no personal data to access, correct, delete, port, or sell.
Permissions
SuperCapture requests platform permissions only as needed for capture functionality. Data accessed through these permissions stays on your devices — it is not transmitted to us or shared with any third party.
Desktop (macOS & Windows): screen recording, microphone, and file system access for screenshots, screen recording, audio capture, and gallery management.
Mobile — Camera: used to scan the pairing QR code shown by your desktop app, to take photo captures from the "Camera" button, and to power the on-device document scanner. Frames never leave your phone except to upload completed captures to your own paired computer.
Mobile — Photos: used only when you explicitly pick an existing image to send to your desktop. The app does not browse, index, or upload your photo library on its own.
Mobile — Local network / Wi-Fi: used to discover your paired SuperCapture desktop on the same Wi-Fi network (via mDNS / Bonjour) and upload captures directly to it.
